FIRE is now part of SISEN, the Entity Registration System of the Spanish State Investigation Agency (AEI)!
At FIRE, we believe that scientific evidence forms the cornerstone of responsible intervention. That is why we act as a bridge between academic rigour and practical implementation. At the same time, we never lose sight of one of the most important pillars of our projects: public participation and the social context of each case.
In line with this approach, we decided to register with SISEN, and on 4 February this year our application was verified and approved.
What is the State Investigation Agency (AEI)?
The AEI aims to harness the potential of individuals and institutions engaged in research in Spain and to make science a key driver of social progress. To this end, it promotes scientific and technical research across various fields and seeks to ensure that the knowledge generated contributes to improving society.
It achieves this through initiatives such as fostering collaboration between stakeholders, supporting the generation of scientific, technical, economic and social knowledge, and working to raise the profile of science.
Why does FIRE want to join SISEN?
Research and development (R&D) is essential to achieving the desired results in our projects.
Being part of SISEN means that FIRE is one of the organisations affiliated with the State Research Agency, which gives it access to calls for proposals relating to R&D&I and enables it to be recognised as a formal research organisation.
Furthermore, at FIRE we recognise that collaboration (both between organisations and with the wider community) is essential. Being part of SISEN can also facilitate scientific and technical collaborations with other organisations, which is vital for driving forward applied projects based on scientific knowledge.
